The Foundation for Economic Education

The Foundation for Economic Education (FEE) is the oldest research organization promoting individual freedom, private property, limited government, and free trade.

FEE is a "home" for friends of freedom everywhere. It was founded in 1946 by Leonard E. Read and given direction by its adviser, the eminent Austrian economist Ludwig von Mises. Throughout the years FEE's mission has remained resolute: to study the moral and intellectual foundation of a free society and to share its knowledge with individuals everywhere.

The Foundation for Economic Education draws upon the wisdom, philosophy, theories, and written works of many great thinkers, economists, teachers, and writers to spread the message of liberty and the free society. FEE supports, promotes, and relies upon the classic and contemporary works of defenders of freedom such as Adam Smith, Leonard Read, Faustino Ballv, Edmund Opitz, Frdric Bastiat, Ludwig von Mises, F.A. Hayek, Henry Hazlitt, Milton Friedman, Walter Williams, Mark Skousen, Lawrence Reed, Murray Rothbard, Carl Menger, Israel Kirzner, Burt Folsom, Doug Bandow, Dwight Lee, Hans Sennholz, and many more.
